Purpose of the role:

You will analyze and design payment workflows and Payment Gateway functionality, translating business requirements into clear technical solutions and specifications. Working with product, design, engineering, QA, and technical account teams, you’ll help evolve the platform, improve payment reliability and security, and increase transaction success.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed technical documentation, covering domain entities, logical data models, use cases, web forms, API specifications, permissions, logs, business rules, edge cases and other system behavior.

• Analyze existing payment provider and banking integrations, investigate L3 issues and change requests to define the required system changes.

• Apply your expertise to solve complex payment-domain problems, such as increasing payment success rates, improving reliability and security, handling asynchronous processing, retries and idempotency, and resolving data inconsistencies between systems.

• Work closely with the product manager and designer to prepare design mockups based on business and system requirements, ensuring that the proposed solution covers both user needs and technical constraints.

• Take part in architecture and solution design together with the architect, engineers, and QA. Propose technically feasible solutions, explain trade-offs and contribute to API and system design decisions.

• Participate in peer reviews to improve the quality, consistency and technical accuracy of specifications.

• Regularly update and improve documentation, including specification templates and standards, to keep it clear, accurate and accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Experience:

• 3+ years of experience as a System Analyst, preferably with hands-on experience in payment systems, payment gateways, fintech or banking.

• Proven experience designing API, logical data models, integrations in various patterns, microservices architecture.

• Strong modelling skills in BPMN and UML, including Sequence, State Machine, Use Case and Class diagrams.

• Proficiency in Postman, browser DevTools and JSON editors.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, stay effective when priorities change and flag risks early.

• English at B1+ level for writing documentation. Fluent Russian for team communication

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of payment security, compliance and regulatory requirements, such as PCI DSS, KYC, AML and GDPR.

• Understanding of end-to-end payment flows, including authorization, capture, refunds, chargebacks, 3DS, withdrawals and reconciliation.

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL DBs.
